Surgery Closed for Training Afternoon

09/06/2020

TARGET is a scheme that brings our city’s GPs, Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants together every two months to learn new skills, hear about new treatments and share good practice.  We think it will mean better services all round – that is what we’re aiming for!

It means that your surgery will need to close for one afternoon every two months but we will ensure that medical care will be available when you need it.  The surgery will therefore be closed on the following afternoons but the Out of Hours service (which can be accessed by calling 111)

We’re on TARGET for better services

TARGET is a scheme that brings our city’s GPs, Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants together every two months to learn new skills, hear about new treatments and share good practice.

It means that your surgery will need to close for one afternoon every two months but we will ensure that medical care will be available when you need it.

The surgery will therefore be closed on the following afternoons but the Out of Hours service (which can be accessed bye calling 111) will cover:

Tuesday 9th June 2020

 Thursday 30th July 2020

Tuesday 15th  September 2020

Wednesday 11th  November 2020

 Wednesday 20th January 2021

Thursday 18th  March 2021

Don’t forget, it’s TARGET week!

We will be closed the following afternoon

Thursday 30th July 2020.

so that our GPs, Nurses and Health Care Assistants can join the TARGET training scheme.

In the case of an emergency, medical care is available.

Please contact your surgery and listen to the answering machine message or contact the Out of Hours service by calling 111

TARGET explained
What our GP training scheme means for your care

TARGET stands for Time for Audit Research Governance Education and Training and all of these things are important in ensuring that surgery staff can do their jobs as effectively as possible.

We will be closed on these afternoons so that our GPs, Nurses and Health Care Assistants can join the TARGET training scheme.

But don’t worry, in the case of an emergency, medical care is available.

Please contact the Out of Hours service by calling 111

By taking part in a half day TARGET session every couple of months our GPs, Nurses and Health Care Assistants can:

Learn new skills which they can then use back in the surgery
Learn about new treatments and approaches to care
Work more closely with the hospitals and other care providers to make your care work more effectively
Share their thoughts and ideas with each other to improve services.
